Dinner at Outback + Taxes filed--refund coming + Donuts + Hubby on way home from China = 1 very happy PMSing Mom(if that's possible)!!!!!!!!!!!!
--------------------------------------------
Every now and then my truck driver brings me donuts in the morning. This thoughtful gesture makes me very happy and it's just what I need after a week without hubby. He actually brought me 3 donuts and when I picked up the bag they felt heavy. So, I weighed them. 3 donuts= 1lb. WOW!! It didn't stop me from eating though!! Actually I only ate 2--I gave one to a sweet older lady that comes into the Office every day. I've kinda adopted her or she has kinda adopted me. She is in her 70's and has no family close. No kids, only an ex-husband that she is still in touch with and he comes to town about 3 times a year. She does all of his business for him and as far as I can tell they get along great. I feel sorry for her especially during the holidays. I've brought her dinner on occasions after our Thanksgiving or Christmas dinners. I always get her a x-mas gift and make her promise to wait until x-mas morning to open (it's the only one she gets). She loves to give me advice (even though she has never had kids) and for New Years she even decided what my New Years Resolution should be!! She thinks I should drink more water and add 2 vegetables to my no vegetable diet. So far I have appeased her on the water drinking but I still have 11 months to go on the vegetable thing.

Grant had appointment with ENT yesterday, and just like we thought he wants to take out his adenoids. From what I was told it is a pretty easy surgery with no down time. Thank goodness he didn't want to take out his tonsils. He still doesn't think this is what is causing his Migraines but hopefully it will help.

The following is an e-mail I just got from my boss:
When you get home tonight take time to hug your significant other, pet your dog (or even the cat...Argh!!) and have a GREAT weekend! I sincerely appreciate all you do!!
A lecturer, when explaining stress management to an audience, raised a
glass of water and asked,
"How heavy is this glass of water?"
Answers called out ranged from 20g to 500g.
The lecturer replied, "The absolute weight doesn't matter.
It depends on how long you try to hold it.
If I hold it for a minute, that's not a problem.
If I hold it for an hour, I'll have an ache in my right arm.
If I hold it for a day, you'll have to call an ambulance.
In each case, it's the same weight, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes."
He continued,
"And that's the way it is with stress management.
If we carry our burdens all the time, sooner or later,
as the burden becomes increasingly heavy,
we won't be able to carry on.
When we're refreshed, we can carry on with the burden.
So, before you return home tonight, put the burden of work down.
Don't carry it home. You can pick it up tomorrow.
Here are some great ways of dealing with the burdens of life:
* Accept that some days you're the pigeon, and some days you're the statue.
* Always keep your words soft and sweet, just in case you have to eat them.
* Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.
* Drive carefully. It's not only cars that can be recalled by their
maker.
* If you can't be kind, at least have the decency to be vague.
* If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.
* It may be that your sole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
* Never put both feet in your mouth at the same time, because then you won't have a leg to stand on.
* Nobody cares if you can't dance well. Just get up and dance.
* Since it's the early worm that gets eaten by the bird, sleep late.
* The second mouse gets the cheese.
* When everything's coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
* Birthdays are good for you. The more you have, the longer you live.
* Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.
* We could learn a lot from crayons...
Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names, and all are different colors, but they all have to live in the
same box.
*A truly happy person is one who can enjoy the scenery on a detour.

Interesting math equations!
Glad to see you're back to blogging. I still have you on my Bloglines, and I catch up about once a month.
I think you ought to add your house to the blog tour of homes -- you guys have fixed it up so nice!
Great note on letting go of burdens before they weigh you down.
I just now found you again! Glad you're back, friend.
